From the description in the article below, we suspect that this drawing is similar in subject to another pastel Woodward made around the same time (from the same farm). This specific times in his career, Woodward had as many as 80 pieces of art circulating between New York and Boston. The first six months of 1931 are perhaps his busiest following the 1930 Gold medal honor he received at the Boston's 300th (Tercentennial) Celebration exhibit.
