Editor's Note:

• There would never be a diary comment for a sketch drawing. There is even a question as to whether this drawing should be in the regular galleries. It was something Dr. Mark had included since the early days of the website.

He is no longer with us to ask his reasoning. Still, we think he reason was that this is the only sketch we have where Woodward made drew it on fine linen paper and made a border around it making it more than just a sketch.

This sketch was removed from the sketch book of RSW and framed and given to an admirer who was seeking an RSW oil painting of the familiar barn.
