Unfinished: First Church of Deerfield

We believe that this sketch may have been a "start" in what was to be a series of paintings on New England Architecture over its history a commissioned by Francis Garvin. A couple of years ago we discovered 11 unfinished paintings (both chalks and oils) in an old wooden shipping crate stored in the carriage house attic. Two of those paintings were of the Deerfield Church (image to the right) and one of those similar in perspective to this drawing, Unfinished: First Church of Deerfield, Profile
