This is a signed but unnamed early impressionistic and "impasti-styled" painting. We do not know the year and it does have the trademark red "S" in the signature. It is definitely pre-1925 but not earlier than 1920. Between 1920 and 1924, RSW painted a number of atmospheric-romantic paintings because that was the fashion of the time and sold well versus his natural realistic painting. However, by his own admission in a letter to a friend he preferred the color of the skies to the north or south during sun rising and setting.
