Woodward did not record chalk drawing in his painting diary.

We do not have an exact year for this pastel, however, from the evidence of mold in the sky of the painting dates it between 1929 and 1931. Woodward had either improperly stored his chalks or somehow let his blues get wet. The mold appears mostly in the skies.
