This sketch was used as the cover of the Deerfield (MA) Academy's American Studies Group catalogue of the works of Robert Strong Woodward. Click on the link to see the catalogue published in May 1970.


The Griswold House is a historical landmark across the road from Woodward's Southwick Home & Studio.


While the maples still stand to this day, the sugar house no longer does.
