Woodward did not keep records of his pastel paintings he called chalk drawings, however, fortunate for us that it exhibited at the Manchester (VT) Art Center because we at least have this sepia image above. It is extremely rare to have a sepia of a pastel painting (the artist called chalk drawings).
We would love to see the coloring of this chalk drawing. It appears very sunny and vibrant. we also love the whimsy of it. It is somewhat reminiscent of Funny Little House, or Sun on the Balcony, but there is also The Summer Porch and The Three Chimneys
This chalk drawing came up for auction at Adam A. Weschler and Sons on 2/16/.91 Low estimate was $1,200 and high estimate was $1,800.The chalk sold for $275.00
