Featured Artwork: Unnamed #07, From the Patio

RSW's Diary Comments

As unfinished, Woodward would not have written or commented in his artwork diary. All the works of art were framed for their preservation in 2017.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This painting most closely resembles Unnamed #3, however, of all the paintings we have of RSW painting the valley below his Southwick place looking south towards Ashfield; this is the only one that includes his neighbor's home. Therefore I believe he may have painted this from his patio just outside his kitchen.

Additional Notes

This incomplete artwork was found in a forgotten shipping crate stored in an attic, as seen below, along with twenty other pieces. The crate is in excellant condition and is a wonderful example of how RSW shipped his paintings about the country to exhibit in various shows.
