The image above is from the cover of the May 1970 Catalog compiled by the Deerfield Academy's American Studies group annual year long project. The drawing itself is credited to be supplied by Woodward's cousin Florence Haeberle and the whereabouts of the original is unknown. Note that it is signed in the lower left, so it is his work.


The drawing is related to the painting Four Maple Trees in March seen to the right.


Though between the ages of 14 and 18 years old the kids of the Deerfield Academy's American Studies group did a remarkable job. Their work was the original source for this website and our appreciation is endless. We make the catalog available for your viewing pleasure.
