Given the name, we imagine that this chalk would most likely be an aged tree along a roadside or perhaps shading a home. The trees he is refering to are maple trees he called "Maple Guardians." We looked up the name but could not find any information. See paintings like Maple Guardians or From Our Forefathers to see what we mean.

The drawing exhibited in 1937 which means it was show-worthy.
